For us, August is a month of preparation. The entire FutureMotiv team have been busy working on a range of projects as we all get ready for next month’s Cenex Expo.
But we can’t just leave you with all the details about our showcase at Cenex – we have also published another article in our electrification series.
Last month we looked at how Aviation is decarbonising, and this month we take a look at a much smaller but equally as important sector: mining vehicles.
The Electrification of Mining Vehicles
Mining vehicles play a huge role in the emissions created on mining sites, and though several mining companies are looking to hit net zero – whether through carbon credits or renewable energy usages – a few are looking at the usage of diesel on their sites and wondering if there is a more sustainable way.
Adapting industrial vehicles to use battery and motor technology rather than engines comes with unique challenges but add to that the rough terrain and ever-changing climate of mining sites and it becomes an entirely new ball game.

Cenex Expo takes place on the Wed 4 & Thu 5 September at UTAC Millbrook. We’ll be exhibiting some of our most exciting projects but also getting a look at the latest innovations in the low-carbon automotive sector.
This is our third time at Cenex Expo, and the team always love talking to their peers in the industry to see what the future holds for automotive technology.
